Shape dependence of wind pressure peak factor statistics in hyperbolic paraboloid roofs

The complex shape dependence of wind pressure’s peak factors (PFs) makes it difficult to predict their values for all geometries by using analytical models. Thus, experimental studies are necessary validate available or new models each specific and geometry. Very little information is in the literature hyperbolic paraboloid geometry, which frequently used cable net membrane roofs that particularly appropriate covering large spans. This paper focuses on PFs this It presents a statistical analysis data taken from tunnel experiments eight different geometries, obtained through combinations squared rectangular plan shapes, high low models, two curvatures roof parabolas. Roof zones non-Gaussian behavior predominant identified. A comparison made between PF statistics experimentally those estimated Davenport, modified Hermite, Translated Peak Process (TPP) terms means standard deviation errors over entire roofs. concluded Hermite TPP provide best estimates deviations, respectively.
